SOLUTIONS FOR NEXT GENERATION AGVS AND AMRS
LOGIMAT 23
Intralogistics is increasingly characterized by automation and robotics. Integrated motion specialist Synapticon will be showcasing solutions for AGVs and AMRs based on FSoE (Fail Safe over EtherCAT) at Logimat. "Synapticon recently achieved an important milestone - in the form of a lean, user-friendly control system via a single cable. Using Fail Safe over EtherCAT - FSoE for short - it is possible to realize more compact and energy-efficient second-generation AGV systems," explains Michael Mayer-Rosa, VP Marketing at Synapticon.
The motor, gearbox, encoder, servo, laser scanner and controller are optimally coordinated to support intelligent motion control. The leaner overall concept requires fewer internal components and cabling, resulting in significant advantages - from development and production through to operation and maintenance.
FSoE enables a less complex architecture, especially for mobile robots with manipulators. This makes it possible to implement hybrid systems consisting of AGVs and cobots, i.e., a moving platform with a robot arm, using just one controller. Unlike the outdated CAN standard, EtherCAT supports a high bandwidth and data rate with low latency. Read more about Synapticon's AGV solutions here.
